Maria Chatzilampou was born and raised in Florina, Greece. She grew up in an environment with a variety of aesthetic and artistic stimuli. She has graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK having as a mentor the great British artist Lubaina Himid.
Chatzilampou’s paintings are characterized by the quality of monochrome and emotional intensity. She develops a visual artistic language of polymorphic allusions, with dream extensions and metaphysical implications. She participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Reviews of her work were written by art historians Maria Kenanidou and Despina Efthimiou.
